You must optimize your site in order to get the best organic rankings in the search engines. But there are two parts when optimizing, On-Page SEO and Off-page SEO.

Before starting to advertise, your site should be well On-Page SEO optimized to help the search engines to find you. To get this, there are some easy techniques you must follow. This doesn’t mean your site will get good rankings just for doing this but it will help a lot when doing your off-page optimization and advertising.

Whatever the topic of your site is about, try to use the next 9 steps below when building it.

***********************************************************************************

NOTE- SEOPressor is a wordpress plugin that will help you with your ON-Page SEO. It acts like a virtual assistant.  It’s well worth the investment!

***********************************************************************************

1- TITLE

You must place the title of your site trying always to use your main keyword.

The HTML code is

<title>Your title goes here</title>

As an example, for this site it could be

<title>Franchise Business</title>

2- DESCRIPTION

Next, a short description of your site. You must also use your primary keyword and if you can and sounds good, try to use a secondary keyword too. The code is

<meta name=”description” content=”Your description goes here”>

3- KEYWORDS

The keywords you want your site to rank well. You have to do a selection of the most relevant keywords for your content and what you are offering. The code is

<meta name=”keywords” content=”Your keywords go here”>

4- HEADER TAGS

Use header tags trying to place your primary keyword between them.  Header tags are <h1>, <h2>, <h3>… When typing your header use the following code

<h1>Your header goes here</h1>

5-BOLD, ITALICE and UNDERLINE Features

Use bold, italice and underline features for your main keywords. Don’t over do it but use it properly. You can bold your primary keyword at the very beginning and at the end of your content. Also, underline or italice it once in the middle. Just look natural!

6- “ALT” CODE

Use the “alt” code for your images on your site. You must place your primary keyword on it. This way, the text with your keyword is shown when the mouse is placed over the picture and the search engines find the keyword again. The code is

<img border=”0″ src=”http://www.Your domain here.com/images/1.jpgalt=”Your text here”>

7-PRIMARY KEYWORD

Place your primary keyword once at the very beginning of your content and once at the vey end. Don’t overdo it placing it lots of times into the content. Keep it natural.

8- PRIVACY POLICE, DISCLAIMER, TERMS and CONDITIONS, CONTACT, ABOUT US.

Build above sites in your domain if needed. One for each. You must know your needs and build the ones your really need. At least, have the Privacy Policy, About Us and Contact Us.

It will be www.yourdomain.com/privacy_police.html and so on.

Then, place links to those sites in every sales page in your domain. To do this, you can simply add them in the footer.

9- SITEMAP and ROBOTS.txt

Build a site map for the search engines and place it in your domain. It would be

www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Go here to do it for free www.xml-sitemaps.com. Once done, download it to your computer and then upload it to your server.

Build a robots.txt file and upload it to your server.

*****************

Those are  the 9 steps you must follow before advertising your site and starting off-page SEO = building links to your site.

    Placing ones primary keyword once at the very beginning of his content and once at the vey end is a good tact. but i didnt really understand the caution “Don’t overdo it”.

    The caution of “Don’t overdo it” means just that. Make the writing seem natural, and not like you are trying to over stuff your text with keywords. Not only will it turn off your customers, but it is not really needed to stuff your text with keywords all these other steps listed on this page are followed.

    Very good onpage seo article, however i would like to point out to an important thing regarding the Title tag and the Description too:

    In my opnion since onpage SEO is not that heavy weighted on google it is best that people should optimize their Titles as Description to attract users more than for SEO purpose and that’s because people see the Title and description when they do searches and the benifit you will get from this kind of optimization (user-optimization) is more than that you will get from the SEO optimization.

    Picking good keywords is very important too. I am often supprised how many people do not do what you discuss about onsite optimiation. Just do a search sometime for “untitled document” and see how many sites have this as the title of their homepage.

    I would also add the importance of understanding the writing your description tag with “getting the click” in mind. Clearly, you need to use your page keyword in the description, but also you have around 140 characters in which to craft an “advertisement” delivering your keywords but also clearly and accurately describing the page. The user then clicks through and is satisfied that the page is what she/he is looking for. Google monitors clicking back out of sites and inaccurate or poor descriptions could adversely affect your ranking as a result.

    Great tips! thanks a lot for sharing them. Making our website search engine friendly can help to increase or improve our search engine rankings, but we also need to ensure that we avoid stuffs like keyword stuffing and other things that make our website look annoying for our audience.

    Awesome tips given here. It’s also cool to use your targeted keywords in your categories to help that certain keyword rank on SERPs. I also found out during my previous research that the keyword density of the targeted keyword within the body copy is very important. keep it mentioned in the content at least 1-2%.

    and the most important factor of on-page optimization is staging a good internal/deep linking structure, to help search engines identify and crawl relevant pages :)

    Thanks, I enjoyed reading this entry :)

    Great SEO tips!….Sometimes when we are so focused on SEO keywords, tags and codes in are articles or other website content, we forget about simple things like spelling and grammer. I have been using a great software tool lately to make my articles and website content look totally professional called: Grammarly. We all know the spelling on the internet is a horror story, and as business people we must make our websites look completely professional. Grammarly will make your content look like your high school english teacher rewrote it!
