Advertising Your Site in Directories
Once the site is well optimized it’s time to start advertising it.
Now, that the site is new what you have to do is submit it to Directories.
The goal:
- Get listed in the Directories will send traffic to your website and,
- You will get indexed by the search engines
The main goal is traffic but it will help for SEO purposes. Now, you want traffic and this will help you to start. Submit your site to free and paid Directories if you can afford it. It’s worth the money!
Don’t mass submit! Do it natural, with 3-4 submissions per day every two days. It will take some time but it’s worth the effort and the waiting because submitting to too many in few time it may seem you are spamming the search engines.

Those php directories seem to supply almost no traffic, but in my experience they increased link popularity and the 3 majors sent twice as much traffic as before! Because the directories are very slow to respond the listing effect is staggered and not bunched up…naturally. GD

Hi Geoff,
We want traffic and we can’t left directories behind. This is just the at the beginning, when we launch our site.
We want to get free traffic and those directories will help us in the organic rankings in the SE which will give
us the traffic we aim for. This alone won’t do almost anything, as you say, but this is the first you have to do.
More info coming.
