Getting Links to Your Site - Part 2

By admin | February 13, 2008

After submitting the site to directories and, writing and submitting articles to the major article directories we have got some powerful links pointing back to our site.

Now, we can be found inside those directories by people browsing them or in the organic rankings in the Search Engines. The directories will be listed there too as well as our articles and our site despite this last one won’t have high rankings at this time and can be listed somewhere deep (it will depend on the keyword and the market we’re in).

So, now we have to climb up positions and be as close as possible to the firsts. At least, we want to try to be in the first page to be seen fast. To do so, we need more links pointing to our site and we can get some more for free (just a little work involved).

1. Squidoo

This is something you must do. It’s free and it will let you build a one page site, which is called lens.

It’s a full step by step process that will guide you to create your own lens. It’s not necessary to build a perfect or professional long lens once you start. You can always edit it and improve it with the time. So, go there and start with a short one.

Squidoo has a PR7 so your lens will get indexed fast and the links from your lens to your site will help it to climb up positions in the search engines.

You can build as many lenses as you wish.

2. Scribd

Another thing you must do. It’s a PR6 site. This is a place where you can upload your documents. You can publish, share, distribute your info for free. Over 10 million people a month view documents here.

3. Hubpages

Similar to Squidoo. It’s free and has a PR5.

***********

Social Media is growing up fast. Very fast! …and you need to be in.

Build a Lens, create a Hub and upload content to Scribd. This will give a boost to your site in the organic listings and, at the same time, you will gain more exposure being in different places, which means more visitors
